Despite being held at a time when the world was first hit by the financial crisis, InfoComm China 2009 exceeded the organizer's expectations with a 13.4% increase in visitorship from 8,525 in 2007 to 9,669. This turnout attests to the strong Chinese desire for new knowledge and their determination to succeed.
Of the visitors,
- 78% are trade professionals while 22% are vertical market end-users.
- 66% are authorized to make purchase decisions; 40% are in a position to recommend purchase.
- 51% have annual AV budgets of over US$10 million; 26% have annual budgets of US1 million to US$10 million.
- 41% of trade professionals cater to the residential markets; 47% cater to the commercial markets; and 12% cater to both.
- Among the vertical market end-users, they work in the following sectors:
- Corporate: 58%
- Hospitality & Leisure: 14%
- Building & Facility Management: 8%
- Government (including military, transportation & healthcare: 8%
- Other sectors, including Education, Entertainment & Residential: 12%
- 68% came from Beijing; the rest came from 28 other cities from all over China
